Fralock Partners with NuSil Technologies and Lockheed Martin to Develop New Generation of Space Grade Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) Canoga Park, CA (Oct 1, 2004) This month marks a banner milestone as Fralock joins forces with NuSil Technologies and Lockheed Martin to develop and introduce our remarkable new generation of space grade SILICONE PSA: T-4708. Our new adhesive can be applied to Kapton, as well as a variety of other substrates. Because it is a silicone PSA, it has a very wide temperature range and exhibits excellent high and low temperature shear strength. What is unique about this new material is its low out-gassing characteristic. T-4708 passes all of NASA’s manned space flight out-gassing requirements and tests. Current applications for this revolutionary new technology include solar array assembly and satellite production -- a similar “generation 1” material was used on two of the last Hubble Telescope repair operations. And it is also being tested by a number of aerospace companies for new application opportunities. For more information, please contact our sales department. |
