Metalized Fabric Over Foam

Fralock has recently added metalized fabric over foam gasketing products to its line of EMI shielding and RFI shielding materials. This product combines the use of highly flexible nickel over copper-plated polyester fabric over an open-celled polyurethane foam core to provide an economical, non-corrosive, highly effective, conductive pad. The bottom surface is supplied with a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) strip with release liner if required.

Fralock’s RoHS compliant metalized fabric over polyurethane foam core gaskets are setting a new standard for EMI shielding control. Nickel-plating over a highly conductive copper plated substrate provides excellent electrical characteristics necessary for high attenuation shielding. Bonding the conductive substrate to the core assures self-termination when cut, while providing superior flexibility.

All gaskets have compression set values of less than 3%, and are RoHS compliant. Installation is simple and fast with Stick-on mounting. Nickel plating over a highly conductive copper substrate provides the excellent electrical characteristics necessary for shielding effectiveness of greater than 100dB attenuation. The corrosion-resistant plating has superior galvanic compatibility, which increases shielding longevity. Metalized fabric is bonded to a low compression force, open-celled polyurethane foam. Soft to the touch, this user-friendly shielding is highly flexible and provides continuous contact between mating surfaces.
